iPhone overtakes Android to acquire the lion’s share of the US smartphone market

According to Counterpoint Research, more than 50% of cellphones used in the USA are iPhones, overtaking Android.

More than half of smartphones in the US are now made by apple, surpassing Android devices. This gives advantages to iPhone manufacturers over their rivals as they expand into the market rapidly.

The Financial Times says that according to data from Counterpoint Research, the iPhone first reached the 50% milestone in the quarter ending in June, making its greatest share since its 2007 launch.

Google most likely has nothing to be concerned about. After all, relative to other markets, the US has always had a disproportionately large presence of the iPhone.
